Colour fastness to rubbing is the most basic of colour fastness tests. The dyed sample is rubbed, under controlled conditions, against the white crocking cloth. Subsequently, the degree of colour transfer is evaluated using a Grey Scale for assessing staining.
We offer both ISO and AATCC cloths in accordance with their different specifications. We supply either cut pieces or in roll form. Cut pieces can be ordered with either straight or gimped edges.

A range of materials can be assessed in this manner, including carpets, laminates and printing inks as well as coated and painted surfaces.
The fabric to be sampled is rubbed under controlled conditions against the white crocking cloth.
The subsequent degree of colour transfer is then evaluated via the use of a grey scale, as a method for evaluating staining and is then graded.

BHT-Free Polythene Film – 63 microns thick, 400×200 mm

Our predictive phenolic yellowing test kit is designed to assess the potential for either white or pastel-coloured yarns, fabrics or garments to suffer from ‘yellowing.’ This is often a common occurrence amongst light coloured fabrics which can be caused due to both chemical and environmental factors, and fabric ageing.
The James Heal test kit is the original, developed by Courtaulds research. Designed in order to investigate complaints that particularly arise during either transit or storage. Please beware of copies and counterfeit products in the marketplace. These can, not only diminish the accuracy or consistent of results but may also cause health and safety issues.
Available in pack sizes of 50, 150 or 200.
